Monique Frizzell, RVT

I have always had a deep passion for helping animals lead happier, healthier lives – but was not always sure how to make the biggest impact. Then I found the veterinary technician program at Georgian College and fell in love with the RVT’s dedication to aiding animals and society through multiple channels. This was how I would make a difference in animals lives.

I try to live by the expression that “your energy introduces you before you even speak”. With every visit I strive to ensure that my patients leave the clinic feeling ‘better’ than when they arrived. Whether it is a nervous dog feeling more confident with the staff, or a hospitalized patient feeling brighter and more themselves – I try to help them continue their day at ease. When clients leave a visit with new information, or just enjoy the family-like culture here, I feel that I have made a difference.

At home, my family includes my partner Clayton, our hound Benjamin (aka “Guy”), and two black cats Sgt. Tibbs and Lucy (aka “Tinky”). Benjamin tricks us by playing dumb so as not to let on how smart he really is – thinking this means he can get away with getting into the garbage, fridge, microwave, oven, etc. The cats love to have long conversations, tattling on all the mischief Ben got into throughout the day!

Monique graduated with honours from Georgian College in 2016, and achieved her RVT status a year later. Although she is out of school, she loves continuing to learn new information in her field. She worked in a busy small practice for a few years before joining us at ODVS in 2017. Monique brings her professional attitude and quick wit with her everyday. We are very lucky to have her!
