Vaccination and parasite prevention/treatment programs are all designed to prevent disease and prolong the lives of our favourite companion animals. Disease prevention is always less costly than dealing with the treatment of a disease once your pet has developed it. Today there are several new and different vaccines other than just Rabies that are important for your pet. At your pet’s next exam be sure to discuss which vaccines are the best for the lifestyle of your pet.
Early diagnosis of a disease process can lead your pet to a longer healthier life. Annual examinations, wellness blood work, fecal testing and urinalysis are all ways in which you can detect the onset of many illnesses. Be sure to discuss which treatments and tests are the best for your furry friend!
At your appointment we will need to examine your pet. We begin a medical assessment by discussing your concerns, and making your pet feel safe and relaxed. Your trusted Veterinarian will then begin a full physical exam: looking at your pet’s eyes, ears, and skin and checking his or her cardiovascular, neurological, gastrointestinal, and skeletal systems for any abnormalities. We will do this with your involvement, showing and telling you everything that they find. If further diagnostics are needed to check your pet for parasites this will be discussed with you to make a plan that you are happy with.
Many Parasites are zoonotic meaning they can be passed along to humans. This is especially concerning around children, elderly or persons with sickness. Be sure your pet is not a carrier for those nasty bugs!
Please ask us for a clinic tour if you would like to see the whole clinic! Our goal is to have everyone comfortable so we can reach the end goal together. If you would like to schedule an appointment, please call us or make an appointment online
